MEPSA NOVICE PHOTO SHOW SERIES
Contact Marie Phillips

The MEPSA Novice Photo Show Series
provides newcomers with an
opportunity to learn how to improve their photo show entries by using direct feedback. Entrants will be given individual critiques on EVERY photo they enter, thus allowing them to see exactly what they can improve on. Photos will also be judged against one another (just like a real photo show!) and full results will be given to all entrants.
.
Some rules to remember for the Novice Series!!!
Showers CANNOT enter Novice shows and OPEN shows at the same time.
Novice showers may move up to the Open division at any time, however, if they choose to do this, they CANNOT enter any subsequent Novice shows, and they forfeit all qualifications earned within the Novice Division. Open showers may not move down to the Novice division.
Entrants can show in Novice for up to two years, or until a consensus of Judges at season's end believes they have improved enough to move to Open. Once moved to Open, they cannot show in the Novice Division. The two year limit for Novices will be strictly enforced. Also, and this is important, NO PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHS allowed in this Division. This division is intended to provide individual feedback to the novice shower in order to improve their model photography skills. OF, CM and AR horses are welcome as long as the photo is taken by the Novice shower.

FEES AND RULES: $2.00 per show. Entrants may not enter more than 15 photos per show! All photos will be individually critiqued by the photo show judge and entrants will be given constructive criticism on how to improve their entries. Horses that place 1st - 3rd in this series ARE eligible for the MEPSA championship (they will have their own separate division). In Halter any placing 1-3 Qualifies the horse, while in Performance, the horse qualifies ONLY for that Performance class! The show format changes every other month- shows in ODD months are halter shows, and shows in EVEN months are performance shows.
Entrants must keep track of their own qualifiers. No lists will be sent by MEPSA.

Shows will run the third Saturday of every month.
