SINCE 1997

2009/2010 QUALIFYING PHOTO SHOW SERIES

Qualification Information:
If your horse/photo qualifies at any of these shows by placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd, it is then eligible to enter the International Championship Photo Show to be held in June of 2010. A 1st, 2nd or 3rd placing in any Halter Division Class enables that horse to show in any Halter Division Class at the Championships! Entrants must keep track of their own qualifiers. No lists will be sent by MEPSA.

HOWEVER, in Performance, the horse is only eligible to show in the class in which he qualified! For example, if a horse placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd in Western Pleasure and Jumper, then those are the only two performance classes he may enter in the Championships!

FEE:
1-50 photos, $2.00; 51-100 photos, $4.00; 101-150 photos, $5.00 LIMIT 100 HALTER PHOTOS OR 150 HALTER AND PERFORMANCE PHOTOS PER ENTRANT PER SHOW!! Performance showers may add an extra 50 photos, but halter is still limited to 100.. Please make any checks payable to the JUDGE, not MEPSA!.

NOTE:
There have been some changes to the classlist for the 2006/2007season, with some classes added, some removed, some combined! Please read over the list carefully and re-number your photos as necessary!!

RULES:
SASE with adequate postage required for each show. Full results to all entrants. Placings 1-10 with HMs and plenty of champs. Remember, each 1st 2nd and 3rdd placing Qualifies that horse to enter the year-end Championship Show!

Only mail-in entries are accepted. Online photos are not.

If you would like confirmation of your entry's arrival with the judge, we recommend you enclose a self-addressed, stamped post card with your photos/etc...the judge will return it to let you know your photos arrived safely.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY Starting with the December 7, 2002 Qualifier, MEPSA will begin allowing the use of Digital Photographs. Please note and observe the following rules regarding ALL photos:

NO PHOTO MANIPULATION ALLOWED - Photos suspected of any manipulation will be pulled from competition at the judge's discretion. "Manipulation" as set forth by the MEPSA Board of Directors includes, but is not limited to:
*
Digitally or otherwise adding backgrounds, props, riders, tack, etc.

* Altering the appearance of the horse in any manner

Minor standard adjustments will be allowed, such as color balance, brightness, cropping, etc.

STANDARD PHOTO SIZES ONLY - Show photos should be of a uniform size, specifically the current industry standard of 3-1/5"x5" or 4"x6". Photos that are larger or smaller may be disqualified at the judge's discretion.

Some General Photo Suggestions:
Use a high quality photo paper, for either regular or digital photography. Avoid thin and flimsy paper, this won't show off your model to its best advantage, and is more likely to become wrinkled and damaged.

For digital photography, avoid low resolution images, such as 72dpi. This will produce a poor, grainy image that may not show well. Also remember the quality of the printer will affect the quality of the photo. A poor quality low end printer may not produce the best results.

There Are Six Divisions:

Division A
OF Plastic (Breyer, Hartland, Peter Stone, Ertl, Winner's Choice, etc.)

Division B
OF China/Resin (H-R, Beswick, BHR, BFA, Corlette, Breyer Porcelains, etc.)

Division C
